Cripple Creek Casino Expansion Plan Shoots Through the Roof After Wagering Limits Removed
The owners of Bronco Billy’s Casino & Hotel in Cripple Creek, Colorado, are making steady headway into a planned expansion. In a massive announcement made earlier this week, the management stated its lofty ambitions of doubling its operations and parking space at the property.
Las Vegas-based Full House Resort, the current owners of Billy’s Casino, updated and unveiled the grand plan as part of its annual revenue update. The management revealed the Board of Directors approved the plan as a result of voters in Cripple Creek coming together to lift a ban on gambling and wagering limitations on table games.
The Cripple Creek authorities greenlit the project, and the final round of approvals are scheduled to come through by February 3. The hotel project will grow from 180 to 300 rooms and will be constructed in two phases instead of one, as planned earlier. The management plans to build a 400-space parking garage before moving on to the hotel.
List of New Casinos Coming up on Cripple Creek
The entire expansion is projected to cost the exchequer $180 million instead of the $120 million announced earlier and is likely to be completed by year-end 2022. The additional rooms will come up above the new parking space. The new Bronco Billy’s Casino & Hotel will be the largest in Cripple Creek, overshadowing the Double Eagle Hotel and Casino with its 158-rooms.
Bronco Billy’s currently operates 36 rooms, and more are coming up at their Cripple Creek property. American Gaming Group is also building a $14 million hotel with 102-rooms right next to the Wildwood Casino that is scheduled to commence operation by the beginning of May.
Triple Crown Casinos is gearing up to start the construction process on its $40 million, 150-room hotel as soon as the lockdown rules on hotels and restaurants in Colorado relax. Century Casino is also planning to convert the historic Palace Hotel in Cripple Creek to a 30-room boutique hotel. But the plan is currently on hold due to the pandemic.
What’s in Store for Bronco Billy’s Casino & Hotel?
Other sections of the Bronco Billy’s Casino project will remain unchanged, like the entertainment and meeting venue that can host up to 500 people, a fine-dining restaurant, a rooftop pool, and a spa. Full House said that it plans to finance the deal through loans, which must be approved before construction work can begin.
Bronco Billy’s temporarily halted preliminary work for utility line relocation after the casino was forced to remain shut for two months following the federal mandate. Baxter Lee, the General Manager at Bronco Billy’s Hotel & Casino, in an official statement, said the storm drain project would resume within a month depending on the weather and the financing.
Meanwhile, the clients will either have to relocate the customer parking to an offsite location or use a valet parking service till construction is complete. Once the new setup is done, Bronco Billy’s management plans to increase its workforce from 160 to 450 employees.
